Who we are .............

"Firefighters of the World - Department Cyprus" is an International, volunteer humanitarian organization that aims to enhance the capacity of civil society to get prepared, react and respond to the effects of natural or technological disasters, helping wherever there is an emergency, along with the help of the upgrading the capabilities in Fire and Mountain Rescue training, without any racial, religious, political or other distinction.

The activities of the organization are supporting the role of the Local Fire Departments and all other relevant Government Authorities and Departments. Therefore FoTW-CYPRUS is in close co-operation with the Fire Department, the Forestry Department, the Civil Defence Force and the offices of the Volunteer and Environmental Commissioners. We also have close relations with the Red Cross and other NGOs. Major partner in our work is the Cyprus University of Technology TEPAK

Under the umbrella of the International Office Firefighters of The World - IOFOTW - we work with the  International Association of Firefighters - CTIF - and we participate in the Forest Fires Committee. We are also members of the International Association of Emergency Managers - IAEM - and the International Network of ESEPA.
