OUR STORY
When & WHY ......
The movement of Firefighters of The World was founded in 2011 in Greece. After the devastating fires of 2007 & 2009 in Greece a group of organizations from Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Austria, Switcherland and Holland took the initiative to form an International NGO with aim to support the society get prepared and act in emergency situations after a natural or man made disaster.
With the support of the Local Authorities and other Government Departments the official establishment of Firefighters of The World was on the 11th of October 2011.
Our Commitment.....
The Association was founded by volunteers who want to provide services to the community at a local and global level without any racial, religious, political or other discrimination and undertake to protect the people who are helping, informing society about what is happening in the areas where we provide help.
The Voluntary Association "Firefighters of the World - Cyprus" began in 2011, with actions and activities to offer assistance in strengthening the capacity of civil society to prevent and cope with the impacts on society from natural or other disasters. Our activities include actions with ultimate purpose in improving the quality of life of our fellow citizens.
LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES
The commitment of "Firefighters of The World-Cyprus" is to stand firm in our actions because we believe this will provide results and positive changes in civil society. To achieve this, we have a group of leaders and visionaries who every day make possible the transformation we want. The volunteer program welcomes people of all ages, sexes, professional and educational levels who wish to connect to social actions we take, as part of the core business of the organization.

Uniform & Insignia / Equipment
All members of our teams have a full training course in which our expert trainers with support from the Fire Department, the Forestry Department, the Civil Defence Force give their expertice and practical training, nessesary to our volunteers. Following the trainees evaluation in the end of each course, we provide full operational equipment to the succesful participants.
Every effort is made to protect our member in the field of action. We provide to all members of the Forest Fire Unit with protective clothing and other personal protection equipment.
